The term self-care is absolutely a buzzword (just google it and find about 5 billion hits…) but what does it actually mean (most importantly) to YOU?

In this interactive session participants will take time to focus on their own care and well-being as a foundation of how they want to show up in the world.

What's working well? Where could you use some support?

We'll dig into these questions and more to help set you up to support yourself. Self-care is a buzzword, but it doesn't have to be complicated and can focus on what you ENJOY.

This session is designed for anyone (we all need self-care) but specifically folks in ‘helping’ professions (educators, frontline workers, healthcare, etc.)

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Re-define ‘self-care’: take this concept from a buzzword to a living, breathing and realistic action in your life.

  • Evaluate your current state: Consider your current self-care in 5 categories: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and relational.

  • Decide on a self-care focal point: Choose what you want to focus on for your self-care goals in the coming weeks/month.

  • Learn self-care activities: Learn and practice some simple self-care activities that can support our well-being (mental, emotional and physical health).

  • Create a habit that sticks: Learn a simple research-based process to set a self-care goal that is more likely to make the behavior sustainable long term.

  • Consider barriers to success: Evaluate barriers to your self-care behaviors and create a plan for success.

  • Be accountable: Discover various accountability tools and techniques to enhance success.

  • Be inspired to take small daily actions to care for your mind, heart and body so you and your team can THRIVE.
